Mariam A. Azam, CEO of ADV Consultants, founded the company to provide streamlined, high-quality project management solutions and services that optimize, improve and transform processes and operations to clients both small and large in the Government and Commercial sectors.
Since its inception the company has grown from a project management consulting firm to delivering a suite of robust, technologically-driven management services. In the past 5 years, Mariam has successfully grown ADV Consultants into a premier training provider and consulting firm. She provides tactical direction on corporate growth plans, company principles, distinguished competencies, and quality management. Mariam delivers solutions and services tailored to her clients’ needs, addressing requirements by providing talented leadership and leveraging her expertise to ensure innovation and optimization.
Mariam honed her expertise as a PMP instructor, where she had the opportunity to see first-hand what was needed to help students pass the coveted exam on their first try. She realized that the market was saturated with hard-to-understand reference materials that fell short of conveying the information enveloped in the PMBOK 6th edition. To meet a student’s need for information that was easy to grasp, Mariam authored a quick pocket reference book that simplified the PMBOK 6th edition. Not only does the book reiterate the Project Management Institute (PMI) processes for easy retention, but it also has a section with various forms of exercises which enables students to easily understand the material. In addition to the book, she realized in our busy lives it is hard to find time to sit and study. In response, Mariam developed the mobile app called EzPM for studying on the go—a one-stop app that has once again simplified the PMBOK 6th with 200 Full Exam Questions, 100 Flash Cards, Agile Concepts Clarified, ITTO’s Simplified, direct link to a PMP Instructor and SO much more.
Mariam, a Certified Project Manager and Scrum Master, brings over 15 years of demonstrated experience in delivering innovative software and process improvement solutions to government agencies and private industries. She started her career at IBM in NY by providing technical support to Fortune 500 companies and moved to Northern VA to help government agencies deliver cost-effective programs. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Saint John’s University and an M.B.A in Information Management from Dowling College.
Mariam lives in Chantilly, VA with her husband and two children. She loves to travel and read in her free time.
